Rise and Shine Mr.Baros

Euro2008 is panning out fantastically well, both the hosts are already knocked out, for all practical purposes. The reigning champions, winners four years ago, Greece are already out without scoring even one goal. The world cup winners and runners up from two years ago will be fighting tooth and nail for a spot in the last 8. There is also a possibility of an exit for both of them should Romania win against a what would mostly be a Dutch reserve team on the same day.

Portugal vs Switzerland
Coming to today's fixtures, Portugal are already through to the next stage and will most likely rest most of their big names. They take on Switzerland who are already out of the competition, but the swiss however would want to sign off on a winning note.

Player to look out for:Luis Nani, who will be in starting 11 for the first time in this tournament.

Score prediction: 2-0 in favor of Portugal

Czech Vs Turkey
This is where the real battle lies, both teams have won a game each and are looking for a spot in the quarterfinals. Turkey has never won against the Czech and their previous meetings stand at a cumulative score of 13-2 in favor of the Czech. If the game results in a draw after 90 minutes then there will be a penalty shootout to decide who goes to the next stage, oh boy!

Player to look out for:Milan Baros

Score predicton: 1-0 in favor of Czech

Sadness personified

Things are not going smoothly these days, My suck ass net connection has been acting up since the last 4 days or so, it disconnects every 30 seconds.
  1. Euro 2008 is ruining my life, earlier it was IPL for 45 days, now its euro, and exams are waiting just around the block to whack my face with a nailed club!
  2. Those sods, the so called friends and classmates have acquainted themselves with not only the text books, but also been dating the authors and their man servants!!
  3. As always, I still haven't been able to collect myself together and sit my lazy arse in front of any books yet.. I don't see that happening in the next 2-3 days either.

Well in other news today, Spain is playing Sweden today. A win can confirm a quarter final berth to either teams. Going by the looks of it, I feel Spain is going to be a great deal of pain in the fluffy bottom side of swedes.

Player to look out for: Although Villareal's David Villa was the star of the previuos 4-1 win over Russia, Something tell's me today its going to be Liverpool's Fernando Torres, he missed out on the previuos game big time and today he will shine. Also, I feel Cesc Fabergas is going to come on in place of Villa for major part of the second half.

Score prediction: 2-0 in favor of Spain

In other news: There are rumors aplenty that Fergie is hunting Ajax's star striker Jan Klaas Huntelaar, who has scored 70 goals in 82 appearances. Half dozen Premiership clubs have lined up to sign up Huntelaar's name. Go to Old Trafford or Anfield huntelaar..
